Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup whole milk (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted, plus more for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the melted butter with the milk. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients, and stir gently until just combined.
- Pour the remaining melted butter into a baking dish (about 9×13 inches), tilting it to coat the bottom evenly. Spoon dollops of the biscuit dough into the dish, leaving some space in between each one.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the biscuits are cooked through. Brush with extra melted butter right when they come out of the oven.
Notes
Using high-quality butter enhances the flavor. You can customize with cheese, herbs, or bacon.
